Privacy Policy
Live as PM ("we", "us") is an independent educational project available at liveaspm.com. This policy explains what data we collect, why, where it lives, and how you can see it or erase it. The short version: we collect the minimum needed to save your game progress, we don't run ads, we don't sell data, and you can delete everything yourself.
1. What we collect
- Account data. When you register we store your email address and, if you provide one or sign in with Google, your display name. Google sign-in shares your basic Google profile (name, email, avatar reference) with our authentication provider; we store only name and email.
- Game progress. Which missions you've completed, your grades, XP, run history, and which upcoming districts you've marked "I want this" or "Notify me".
- Preferences. Your theme choice (light/dark), stored only in your browser — it never leaves your device.
- Technical logs. Our hosting and authentication provider (Google Firebase) records standard technical logs such as IP address and browser type for security and abuse prevention, per Google's Firebase privacy documentation.
- Anonymous usage counters. We keep daily totals — visits, sign-ups, mission starts, completions, and grades — as plain counts with no identifier attached: nothing links a count to you, your account, or your device. We use them to see whether the product works and are unable to trace them back to anyone.
2. What we do not collect
- No advertising trackers, no ad networks, no data brokers.
- No third-party analytics scripts. Usage measurement is first-party only: the anonymous daily counters described above, with no per-user tracking, no fingerprinting, and no data shared with analytics companies. If that ever changes, this policy will be updated first.
- No payment data — the product is currently free.
- We never sell or rent your personal data to anyone.
3. Why we collect it
- To create and secure your account (contractual necessity).
- To save your journey — progress, grades and XP — across devices (contractual necessity).
- To understand which future districts to build, from your "I want this" votes (legitimate interest).
- To email you when a district you asked to be notified about ships (consent — only if you pressed "Notify me"; every such email will include a way to opt out).
4. Where your data lives
Account and progress data are stored with Google Firebase (Google LLC) — Authentication for accounts and Cloud Firestore for progress — and may be processed on Google servers in the United States and other countries. Access to your progress record is restricted by security rules so only your signed-in account can read or write it.
The site also loads fonts from Google Fonts and a graphics library from Cloudflare's cdnjs. Like any web resource, those services see your IP address when your browser fetches the files.
5. Cookies and local storage
We use browser local storage (not tracking cookies) for: your theme preference, a local cache of your own game progress, and the session tokens our authentication provider needs to keep you signed in. Clearing your browser storage signs you out and removes the local cache; your cloud progress is unaffected.
6. How long we keep it
Until you delete it. Accounts and progress are retained while your account exists and are removed when the account is deleted.
7. Your rights — access, correction, deletion
Delete everything yourself: on the home page, scroll to the footer and choose Delete account while signed in. This permanently erases your account and your entire progress record.
You can also email gutkuai@gmail.com to request a copy of your data, correct it, or have it deleted manually. We aim to respond within 7 days. Depending on where you live (e.g., the EU/UK under GDPR, California under CCPA), you may have additional statutory rights — we honor access, correction, deletion and portability requests from everyone, regardless of location.
8. Children
Live as PM is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes — for example adding analytics — we will update this page and its effective date before the change takes effect.
10. Contact
